Amir Tibbs
RARE DISEASE ADVOCATE
Ms. Amir Tibbs brings a unique perspective as an African American woman living with a rare disease. She currently contributes her expertise to the City of St. Louis Building Division in Environmental Sustainability, demonstrating her dedication to creating a greener future. Outside of her professional role, Amir is pursuing a Master's in Public Health, underscoring her commitment to healthier communities. A true public health warrior, she also leads a team of volunteers with 'All Hands on Deck' (AHOD), her St. Louis-based 501(c)(3) organization, which provides fresh, FREE groceries five days a week throughout the metro area, conducts neighborhood cleanups and resource fairs in less-resourced areas of the city. AHOD’s theme is S.H.A.R.E. = Share Health And Resources Equitably. Amir exemplifies the integration of professional, academic, and altruistic efforts to make a profound impact on the most important stakeholders - her Community.
Fun Fact: Creativity is her outlet. Amir loves 1950s fashion! She designs and makes many of her own dresses. She has such a collection that she can wear a different dress (with flower hair clip to match) every day!
